At Safient we strive to make digital self-custody safe and convenient and help preserve your digital legacy.
Self-custody of digital assets and information is hard as the owner is solely responsible for managing it and making sure they always have access to it. This is especially true for crypto assets. Crypto and other digital assets are held under accounts protected by digital keys, they are secured by passwords and private keys. As these are not registered financial instruments with any centralized agencies, the asset holder loses a significant sum and information, should any unfortunate event take place in his/her life: be death or accidental loss of the secured information. This is a critical onboarding and management challenges that the digital asset space has been going through.
CZ, CEO of Binance has also talked about this in a recent interview:
CZ talking about the wallet recovery and inheritance as the hardest problem
We at Safient have experienced and heard about this experience first handed and we wanted to solve this with a unique solution that guarantees the safety and convenience of the user. We understand that the solution to this problem requires the right balance of security and convenience and that's what we are striving to do at Safient with our unique approaches and implementations.
Managing, recovering, and inheriting digital assets and information is hard even in the non-crypto space. Solving the recovery and inheritance issues will not only make the Web3 space safe but will assure a secure solution to the entire digital space. The Web3 ecosystem would see mass adoption by the general audience and enterprises in the true nature of self-custody that this space guarantees.
Safient proposes an intuitive solution to this critical problem with a mechanism to securely manage all the secrets through Safient safes that can be recovered or inherited during claimable events without any intermediaries or custody. Safient is a trustless protocol, meaning that there is no need to necessarily trust any actors while using the solution.
Safient protocol is currently in the Alpha testnet phase with nodes being run internally by the team. But the solutions and SDK for integrations are open for anyone to use as we are in the early traction stage.
Safient Solutions
We at Safient have built a few solutions leveraging our own secret recovery and inheritance mechanism.
We allow anyone who needs a digital information recovery solution to build on Safient using our SDKs, may it be a web3 or web2 solution.
