The first-ever blockchain Hackathon @ USC, in collaboration with Hackathon DAO! The hackathon will be offered online with in-person social events, allowing everyone to participate no matter where you are!

We want to shout out to everyone in the USC community who is interested in connecting with the best developers, designers, hackers, enthusiasts, and investors in the industry.

Our goal is to connect college blockchain enthusiasts and support early-stage blockchain start-ups and projects of all aspects while providing networking and workshop opportunities for one to dive deep into the industry. Hackathon DAO has sponsored 1000 USDC as a prize pool for all participating projects! The hackathon will last for the whole of October and closes on October 31st. Project review will begin on November 1st.

In addition to the prize pool, all projects will be established and submitted on HackerLink, giving them a chance to participate in all current Grant programs on the platform. Right now there are three Grants in progress: Polygon Grant, Solana Grant, and Dogecoin Grant. The combined prize pool is over $200,000 and 50,000 DOGE!

Tremendous Prize pool

The combined prize pool of all current Grant programs is over 500,000 dollars, with an additional prize of 1,000 dollars sponsored by DoraHacks for all successfully registered projects. All the money is up for grabs!

Promote your project by participating in Grant

HackerLink Grant is a method for the community to support early-stage developers’ projects using quadratic funding, and this allows the prize pool to be distributed according to donation and popularity among the ecosystem. All projects submitted for this hackathon can enter current Grant programs, including Polygon Grant, Solana Grant, and Dogecoin Grant.

Venture attentions

DoraHacks’ venture partners are leading ventures in the global crypto landscape. Outstanding projects can receive from 5000U to 50000U seed round investments.

They are:

Multicoin Capital, Dragonfly Capital, Binance Smart Chain, HECO, OKExChain, HashKey, NGC, Fenbushi Capital, Fundamental Labs, DFG, SNZ, DuckDAO, BlockDreamFund, Candaq Group, Dealean Capital, Cabin VC, Axia8 Ventures, Kernel Ventures, BlockArc, SevenX Ventures, Incuba Alpha, Signum Capital, LongHash Ventures

Connect directly with ecosystem

DoraHacks will provide opportunities for outstanding projects with enormous potential to connect with ecosystem leaders directly, pointing your project in the right direction and gaining tremendous support from the community.

Voting Mechanism

xx

To determine the allocation of the prize pool, we will employ a voting mechanism that allows participating projects, Blockchain@USC committee, and Hackathon DAO judges to vote together. Each participating project uploaded to our website will have three votes, and the only rule is that you cannot vote for your own project. This means that you can allocate the votes however you want! Blockchain@USC committee and Hackathon DAO judges hold 6 votes each, which means other than voting from the hackathon participants there will be 12 votes from the committee and judges. After all votes are verified, the prize pool will be awarded according to the number of votes received by each project. The calculation is simple, (votes received / total votes )* 1000 = USDC Received. The total votes are subject to change depending on the number of projects participating, but this will not affect the fairness of voting or allocation of the prize. The voting deadline is October 31. The judges of our Blockchain@USC judging committee are all TROJANS!! They are all successful blockchain project founders, and some of their projects have already finished their ICOs!! It’s a great opportunity to establish connections with Trojans in the blockchain industry!!

Prize Pool & Sponsors

$ 1,000

The combined prize pool of all current Grant programs is over 500,000 dollars, with an additional prize of 1,000 dollars sponsored by DoraHacks for all successfully registered projects. All the money is up for grabs! Grant Participation Grant programs are just like our Hackathon, except larger in scale. DoraHacks partners with the blockchain ecosystem to organize Grant and provide funding for outstanding projects. Each Grant may have their rules or themes for participating projects, and this can be found on their Grant page on hackerlink.io. The voting scheme for Grants is a little more complicated, since all of them employ quadratic voting and funding. Quadratic Voting is a voting scheme introduced and often discussed in the Radical Markets community. It is often considered an innovative improvement of the traditional 1-person-1-vote or 1-dollar-1-vote voting schemes. The simplified formula on how quadratic voting functions is Cost to the voter = 1+2+3+...+number of votes TOKEN.Individual community contributors can vote for their preferred projects to push them ahead in the funding round. The votes cost MATICs, which are directly donated to the respective projects after the round. With a quadratic funding algorithm, the cost of each vote to a single project from a single contributor will increase, this encourages community contributors to donate to more projects. All projects of our hackathon can participate in Polygon Grant, Solana Grant, and Doge Hack Grant that are all in progress. Their Grant description page can be found under the Grant section of hackerlink.io. Doge Hack Prize Pool:50,000DOGE Dogecoin and Bitcoin are going to become the space currency — for sure. But there are many pending problems to solve: the blockchain network bandwidth, throughput, speed, security, communication, use cases, inter-planetary consensus algorithms, energy efficiency and sustainability. Other than that, the ecosystem of Dogecoin is critical, therefore, we encourage developers from our communities and beyond to build on Doge, and build its ecosystem. Check our hack webpage for more information and ideas for your projects!!! MEMES & More!! Its core component is Polygon SDK, a modular, flexible framework that supports building and connecting Secured Chains like Plasma, Optimistic Rollups, zkRollups, Validium, etc, and Standalone Chains like Polygon POS, designed for flexibility and developers. Workshops will be carried out by the veteran Polygon’s Developers and the industry leaders. These are designed for not just the developers but also the crypto enthusiasts who want to stay tuned with the Multi-Billion Dollar full-stack scaling industry. Problems: Most musicians don't get fairly paid in today's music industry, which can be mainly reflected in three aspects: 1. Streaming revenue model favors free audience: If a musician fully owns both sound recording and composition copyrights of music, each play on such music can only generate around $0.003 for him on Spotify. 2. Inefficiency of royalty chains: Between a musician with his fans, multiple royalty chains normally involve 2-5 middle organizations. These royalty chains are black boxes, which can cause significant royalty disputes, delays, and deductions. 3. Lack of Ownership of music In the past, people own their music assets, such as CDs and tapes. Owners can resell their music assets. Digitalization makes music no longer an asset. Streamings can not store or transfer value as a physical copy does. For example, the signature cannot be signed on a stream. There is no collection value, and it's not tradable.
