Providing an open-source, and decentralized alternative for centralized Photos backup management services, like Google Photos
Description
Most of us are using Google Photos to store our valuable memories and screenshots of documents we frequently need like identification cards. This was a win-win for us as well as Google.
We could use free storage and a good application interface to access our photos at the expense of our privacy, and Google could improve its Artificial Intelligence algorithms with the feed from our photos at the expense of a free storage offer. However, it all changed in June, when Google stopped its free service. Now it has become a loss for us, loss of privacy, loss of money and most importantly, loss of confidence in what else Google might change in future.
So we decided to develop the same UX and smoothness of Google Photos using React Native. However, instead of connecting it to a centralized cloud service to backup and store your photos, you are able to connect it to filecoin network! You can utilize the full power of decentralized web instead of paying Google for storing your photos and still get the same user experience you used to get from Google or Apple Photos. It can also connect to "box", which is another project you can check out.
Team Information
The project started at a brainstorming session about a year ago, and the team started active development in January 2021.
Team Size 3
Team members: 1- Keyvan is an avid open-source contributor since 2012 (when he joined OpenCog's AGI development team). He holds an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from University of Southampton, UK. He's served in various technical executive positions for about a decade and been affiliated with many start-ups, including two that he co-founded.

2- Kate is a business development and commercialization specialist and has worked with multiple startups and SMEs to realize their non-dilutive funding, investment, and revenue generation goals. Strategic project advisor to Centennial College's projects involving machine learning. Bootstrapping a B2B marketplace technology startup in the construction sector. PhD in Plant Agriculture, Ontario Agricultural College, Msc. from Michigan State University in Crop and Soil Science with focus on statistical analysis.

3- Ehsan Shariati studied electrical engineering and got his master's degree from University of Colorado at Boulder. He is a full stack developer with over 10 years of professional application development, who is experienced in Javascript frameworks, such as Angular, AngularJS, React and React Native, as well as PHP, C, C++, C#, JAVA, Python, MySQL, MSSQL, Linux. He is also a project manager, and has PMP, ITIL and SCRUM certificates. He has developed a shopping mall ERP system for the largest shopping mall in Iran(Isfahan City Center), as well as an insurance ERP for Dana insurance in Iran.
